Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

VISION STATEMENT ON DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

DEI

The Cradle of Liberty Council will be a model of diversity, equity and inclusion for all key stakeholders: youth, adult volunteers and staff.

  • We are a diverse organization of many young members, volunteer adult leaders and staff who reflect the communities we serve.
  • We provide equity of opportunities and reduce barriers to participation in all activities and programs of our Scouting organization.
  • We exemplify inclusivity by welcoming all adults and youth in our community who share the values that are contained in the Scout Oath and Law.
ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO EXPLORE THE DEI TRAINING.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Resources

DEI resources are currently being curated by the DEI Task Force and will be shared here. Please check back for updates. If you have any specific questions that you need assistance with now, please email diversity@colbsa.org.

DEI Nuggets

Cradle of Liberty Council is providing content related to DEI to be shared with our community of Scouts, Volunteers, and Staff. It will be provided as content for inclusion in electronic District Newsletters, and as “DEI Minutes” to be communicated verbally by unit leaders at in-person events. This short-form nugget will celebrate DEI in our community. Content can include interviews, success stories, facts, helpful hints, and other matter.

We invite our community members, i.e., Scouts, volunteers, and staff, to submit an article (between 100 and 200 words) for inclusion as a DEI Nugget.

Please send your article for consideration by email to diversity@colbsa.org

The Firestone Scouting Resource Center and Valley Forge Scout Shop will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2024, for the observance of Good Friday.
