In addition to the program-specific advancements and recognition, there are a number of national awards available for both youth members and adult leaders.
There are numerous awards that can be earned by Scouts, Venturing, and adult Scouters.
Information on many of these awards can be found here.
Please note that some of these awards, such as Lifesaving and Meritorious Awards, Silver Beaver Award, William T. Hornaday Awards and Venturing Leadership Awards are selected by or require action by the Council Advancement Committee.
The Silver Beaver Award is the highest National award presented by a local council to individuals for noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth through service given to the council. Each local council may present only a limited number of Silver Beavers each year, which makes this a very prestigious award for those whose record of service to youth is most outstanding!
Cradle of Liberty Council is currently accepting nominations for volunteers who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council.
Remember this is for service given at the Council level.
There are other Awards for Unit and District Service.
Please make sure your nomination adequately documents the contributions of your candidate.
The Silver Beaver Award recognizes distinguished service to Scouting and is the highest award a local council can present to a registered Scouter.
These deserving Scouters will be recognized at the Annual Council Recognition Dinner on Monday, April 23, 2018
Registration is now live at www.colbsa.org/dinner.
