Dear Scouting Community,
When my son was seven years old, he joined the Cub Scouts I was busy with work, but every Sunday night I attended his den meetings, and that summer we spent a week together at Cub Scout camp.
This was the start of a wonderful journey, a journey of a Dad and his son doing things together that, without the Scouting program, we never would have done.
This fall, our 18 year-old son left for college, and I can see that he will soon be moving on with his own life. I'm very thankful that there's a program like Scouting that provided us with a structured way to spend time together, and helped me pass on to my son those things that I feel are important in life.
Each year, the Cradle of Liberty Council conducts a fund raising drive among the parents and friends of our Scouts. These funds provide training, camp facilities, and full-time staff to help our Scouts and volunteer leaders provide a quality program.
Please consider a gift of $150 this year, which will cover the cost of one Scout for one year. You can pay your pledge now with a check or credit card, or you can make a pledge and mail in your payment at a later time.
As parents, we all want the best for our children. Scouting provides these things for our children, and with your support, Scouting will remain strong in our community.
I hope that you continue to enjoy your journey in Scouting, and I thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely,
Tom Harrington Scout Executive & CEO Cradle of Liberty Council, BSA
